A large Polish state bank will participate in the Lviv project
A large Polish state bank has invested in the Ukrainian project Innovation District IT Park. The financial company has allocated 81.5 million euros for the implementation of technological space in Lviv, which will focus the activities of representatives of the IT sector.
It is planned that the Innovation District IT Park will occupy an area of 10 hectares, and will be located at the intersection of two streets. First of all the object is aimed at the representatives of IT-business, large companies and start-ups engaged in innovative technologies will be located here. In addition, the territory will train young professionals. In addition to office space in the IT Park intends to build a campus for students and laboratories, which will be used by students of different universities of the city.
As for the office buildings, they will accommodate 10 thousand workers, to rent premises in the innovation park has already expressed the desire of large companies, including GlobalLogic, SoftServe and others. In addition, there will be various catering establishments and a kindergarten, which will allow employing about 4 thousand people involved in other areas. In the future, it is also planned to build a hotel on the territory.
According to the original plan, work on the project should have started back in 2018, but they had to postpone until 2021. The first phase of the facility will be commissioned in the second half of 2023.
The cost of construction of the first stage is 136 million euros, the funds were invested in the innovation park by an investor from Lviv and the international Real Estate Fund, which is the largest in the world. The partner of the project is the Lviv organization “IT Cluster”. Construction work is taken care of by Unibep, a company which holds a leading position on the Polish market. The architect is one of the founders of the Bose architectural studio Marek Trijibowicz.
Earlier the investor of Innovation District IT Park was the company Galereja Centre which is first of all famous for its project of shopping center Forum Lviv.
It should be noted that the necessity of such a space in Lviv has arisen long ago. The city actively develops its IT segment and for many years is claiming to be the technological capital of the country.
The IT-industry in Lviv has about 500 companies with a total number of employees of more than 27 thousand people. For comparison, only 5 years ago there was only one large company in the city with more than a thousand employees, but now there are hundreds. It is interesting that one in four of Lviv IT-specialists is engaged in one activity in addition to the main place of work. It is often freelancing, teaching, startup and other. Most employees of technology companies are men, although in recent years the percentage of women involved in this industry has been growing.
